I'm a specialty coffee trainer and judge. With over 7 years of experience in the industry, I am devoted to sharing knowledge about coffee and to improve the international competitiveness of the Malaysian coffee industry.
I was first exposed to coffee as barista with Starbucks Coffee Company, before moving to the United States to pursue her tertiary education. Influenced by the vibrant and matured specialty coffee scene in United States, I decided to pursue a career in coffee and never looked back. I am now an authorized trainer and certifier with the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA), licensed Q-Grader with Coffee Quality Institute (CQI), and a Golden Cup Technician with the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA).
I have been active in the international coffee scenes in order to continue learning and to exchange knowledge with other industry professionals. In 2013, I served as a volunteer in the SCAA Exposition held in Boston, USA. In 2017, I competed in the Malaysia’s Brewers Cup 2017, and have finished 9th Place. Since 2017, I have been judging national and international competitions all around the world.
At present, I am the owner and operator of Emery School of Coffee (ESC), a training lab and coffee lounge. When I am not conducting trainings, judging or competing, I will be brewing some delicious coffees for my patrons in my shop.
